In the decorated high school gym with a DJ on the makeshift stage, Emma Clark smiles as she watches her classmates dance to the upbeat song during their senior-year prom.

The last dance of their high school lives.

She hates that word. Last.

When her boyfriend, Trey Freddrick, notices the sadness washing over her, he plans to do everything in his power to keep her mood uplifted, to keep her from thinking about the end.
